JAMES RICHARD LOGAN
December 8, 1927 - April 20, 2018
James (Jim) Richard Logan, age 90, died while in residence at Broadmoor Court Assisted Living Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. James was born on December 8, 1927 in Ordway, Colorado, and lived with his parents, Claud C. and Grace Amanda Logan on the ranch Claud homesteaded in the south Lincoln County near Karval, Colorado.
James met and married Alice May Darnell, also from that area, on June 16, 1948 and made a living on the family ranch for about thirty years.
Following the sale of the ranch in 1988, Jim and Alice moved to Washington where he raised and showed registered paint horses, and drove a hotshot truck delivering small loads all over the northwest. Jim and Alice returned to south Lincoln County, being closer to family for their retirement.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice, his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Jim is survived by four children, Russell of Medford, Oregon, Douglas (Kathy) of Palmer, Alaska, Nadine (Tom) Thompson of Colorado Springs, and David (Sheri) of Bayard, Nebraska, and their families that include thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Jim's brother, Dale of Fowler, and Glen (Alicia) of Paonia, Colorado.
Memorial Service, 2:00pm, Friday, June 29, 2018, at The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Graveside Service, 11:00am, Saturday, Spring Hill Cemetery, Karval, Colorado 81063.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Broadmoor Court, Nazarene (New Day) Church of Karval, or a charity of your choice.
All friends and family who have loved Jim and his family are welcome to attend.
