WILLIE JONES
June 11, 2018
Willie Jones 80, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away surrounded by his family and loving dog Corbin, on 11 June 2018.
Willie is survived by his wife, Ana of 31 years as well as daughters, Patricia, Sandra, Michelle, Melissa, sons, David, C. Joe Van Frye, J.W Kimmons, Dwight, Willie Cameron and God son, Michael Wallace. He also leaves behind many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to include a large number of extended family. Willie was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone and he will be deeply missed.
Willie loved sports, especially football, naturally, his favorite team was the Denver Broncos. He was proud of his military service and was a decorated Army veteran with 20+ of active duty service. He also worked as a general landscaper for over 15 years, and continued to provide excellent customer service, despite his declining health. Willies dedication to bettering his community revolved around hiring and mentoring ex offenders. This was near and dear to him as he felt this particular population was often overlooked and neglected. He was proud of his employees and they worked hard to make the business successful, which in-turn made him successful. Willie rarely said no to anyone in need and was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, or whatever else needed to be done.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Angelus Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Directors, 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral service is Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. at True Spirit Baptist Church located at 5120 Astrozon Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80916.
