Dr. Winn, devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Dr. Winn, son of Brig. Gen. Winn (USAF) and Mary Jean Winn, graduated from Princeton University with a BS in Engineering in 1976, and Case Western Reserve Dental School in 1980 and was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy. In 1983 he settled with his family in Colorado Springs.
Dr. Winn devoted his life to his patients and was passionate about improving the dental experience. He was widely sought as an instructor in the use of lasers. David was an insatiable reader, skilled sailor, enjoyed house boating on Lake Powell and motorcycle touring, and was active at Village Seven Presbyterian Church (V7PC).
David married Lois Christine Self in 1978. He is survived by Lois, their sons Christopher Capt/USMC and Alexander Maj/USAF, daughter Jennifer, daughters-in-law Amanda and Carolyn, son-in-law Jack Dougherty LT/USN, 5 grandchildren; and siblings Frank, Peter, Elizabeth Hallier and sister-in-law Sandy Winn.
Services will be at V7PC in Colorado Springs at 2 PM on Thursday, 17 April. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Choir Fund at V7PC.

Lois-its so hard to believe that its already 5 years since David passed away. The other day I was thinking about our week on the houseboat on Lake Powell in 1995. What a special time that was.
David will always live on in our memories and in his children and grandchildren.

Dr. Winn was the first dentist I worked for out of Dental Assisting school. He taught me my love and passion for Dentistry. I owe much of my career to Dr. Winn as he trained and taught me much of what I know about Expanded Duties Dental Assisting. One of my favorite memories is when Dave, Chris, Alex and my dad, brother, and I went on a motorcycle trip to Moab together. Dr. David Winn was a mentor and a friend and he will be dearly missed.

Dear Lois and family,
It was with great regret that I received the news of Dave's passing. He was a highly respected colleague in dentistry and the patient and dental communities will surely miss his expertise and example. I certainly enjoyed the times "after hours" that we shared our philosophies and experiences. He was a good neighbor and it was a good ten years that we shared tenancy in the building.
Kindest regards,
B. Lawrence Bennett DDS
