William C. Murphy Obituary
William C. Murphy, 85, heard the gentle whisper of his Lord and Savior calling him home and left this earth on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Bill was born August 15, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Ignatius Hugh Murphy and Ruth (Busby) Murphy.

Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Weed) Murphy, son, Patrick W. Murphy, daughter, Janet L. Kanan, grandchildren Benjamin V. Kanan and Gracyn L. Kanan, all of Denver, and two sisters, Sarah Cole and Susan Garrett, both of Lake Forest, IL.

Granddaughter Shannon M. Mueller preceded him in death.

He was a natural athlete involved in football, basketball and baseball during his high school years at Cleveland Heights, Cleveland, Ohio, and Highland Park High School, Highland Park, IL. He attended Dayton University, Dayton, Ohio on a football scholarship.

Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War. After the service he went into sales with the Reynolds Metals Company in Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI. He joined Sprayon Products Company in Cleveland, OH, and later with Sherwin Williams Paint Company.

Retirement took Bill and Phyllis to Pinehurst, North Carolina, where both enjoyed golf. Since their two children lived in Colorado, a decision was made to move to Colorado Springs, CO in 1993.

Bill & Phyllis were blessed to be able to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary this past September.

As Bill requested, there will be no funeral service and his family will honor his request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. To see full obituary and future services please go to www.cappadonafh.com
