Mollie, a Colorado native was born on April 9, 1914 to David and Maria Kuhlman on a pioneer dryland homestead in Lincoln County in the Cowen community near Kendrick, Colorado. She attended Henry Center School and was confirmed and baptized in the German Lutheran Faith. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado. She married Jake Geist, 1934 in Colorado Springs; they resided and farmed in the Kendrick (Tructon) community until 1953, when they moved to Colorado Springs. They were blessed with two children; a daughter Nora and a son W.E. (Bud) who died of cancer in 1997. Mollie was very generous and everyone enjoyed her sense of humor. Her kitchen was her "entertainment center", no one walked thru her door that she didn't want to cook something for and always wanted to send something home with them. She was a wonderful cook and her cakes and pies were "The Best". She loved to tell about her days growing up on the homestead with her siblings and friends, some were sad and some very funny. Mollie made many friends and her neighborhood the TOPS Club and the places she worked. She is survived by Nora (Ira) McCarthy of Colorado Springs, four grandchildren, Kenneth (Lorrie) McCarthy of ID, Marilyn (Jerry) Keffer of CO, Tom (Wendy) Geist of AZ and Jana Purdy of AZ; seven great-grandchildren Chase (Melinda) McCarthy of OR, Chelsea (Justin) Kenton of CA, Amanda, Kenneth and Wesley Geist, Tyler and Nicole Purdy all of AZ; one sister Esther Anderson of CO, sister-in-law Millie Bender of CO, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jake, son Bud, three brothers Charley, Dave and Henry, four sisters Mary Pierce, Ann Kuxhausen, Leah Anderson and Ruth Kuhlman. She will be missed by all. We give thanks to our great God who blessed her with a full life and many blessings showered upon Mollie in her lifetime and for now receiving her home to the glory and eternal joy of heaven. A visitation is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Swan-Law Funeral Director's Cascade Chapel. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Swan-Law Funeral Director's Cascade Chapel with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery.

You were one of my Mom's best friends for many many many years and I always loved when you and Jake came over to visit. I loved listening to your conversations and stories in German and how you would all laugh and laugh. You were always a bright and happy thought and a friend that comes into your life once in a lifetime. I hope Mom and you see each other again. God Bless, Jeannie (Lindt) Brackett.
