David Jackson Obituary

David L. Jackson, age 55, lost his battle with cancer on December 17, 2012 in Orlando, Florida. He was a native of Colorado Springs and was able, with help, to visit his beloved Colorado twice during the last year of his life. David was happy to be able to be with his family and also spend some time in the mountains. He was born in Colorado Springs and attended schools here. Upon completion of school, he joined the Navy where he spent four years. After that, he spent a few years back in Colorado Springs and decided to re-locate to Orlando, where he went to work at the US Post Office for the next 25 years. David was an avid Bronco fan forever and would support them no matter what. He loved all sports and in previous years had played basketball and swam every day. At one time he was hired by a country club in Orlando to teach children how to swim. David is sorely missed by his family and his many friends in Colorado Springs. David is survived by his mother, Barbara Bunce of Colorado Springs; father, Richard Jackson of Winter Park, FL; two brothers, Danny (Roberta) Jackson and Don (Loretta) Jackson of Colorado Springs; aunt, Rose Forrest of Woodland Park, CO; niece, Judy Heramb of Colorado Springs; nephew, Anthony Jackson of Loveland, CO; and three cousins, Patty Forrest of Cañon City, CO, Jim Forrest of Colorado Springs and Don Forrest of Loveland, CO. Also surviving is his longtime companion, Kay Allen, of Orlando, FL. There will be no public service held. The family is gathering to honor his life on January 27, 2013.
