Robert H. Dupont, dearly beloved husband, father, and grandfather died at home on December 5, 2013, after a sudden heart attack. Bob is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Marie; son Ryan (Sonia) of Smithfield, UT; son Eric (Tedi) of Longmont, CO; grandchildren Tess (Jarrod); Athena; JR; and great grandchildren Olive, Boston, Sailor, and Rosie; brother James (Sarah); and sister Marilyn (Bill).
Bob was born in Columbiaville, NY, October 23, 1933, the eldest of three children born to the late Henry and Elena Dupont. Bob graduated from Hudson High School in 1951, received a BS degree in Economics from University of Tampa in 1971, and a Master's in Procurement from Webster College in 1980.
Bob entered the US Army in 1953, launching a dedicated and distinguished 32-year career, retiring in 1985 as a Full Colonel. Bob served in Viet Nam in 1966-1967, as well as in many other overseas and domestic assignments that lead to him being awarded 15 decorations including: the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Army Service Ribbon, the Air Medal, and the Bronze Star. After his military retirement, Bob enjoyed another 21-year career working for ITT's defense branch.
Bob developed many cherished friendships throughout his life, and was described as a soldier's soldier by his men.
Bob was intensely devoted to his family and friends, and immensely enjoyed the hours of companionship with his many dogs. His endearing smile and love of life will be greatly missed by us all. Bob expressed his faith in Christ and we are comforted he has entered God's rest, and trust in the hope of seeing him again.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, December 12, from 3:00-4:00 pm, followed by funeral services at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Bob will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Friday, December 13.

What an amazing man! I knew Bob through ITT/EXELIS and was his benefits go-to gal. In one of our many conversations it was discovered that he knew my daddy. Daddy was a retired Major working at Post Billeting at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and was the one who set Bob up in housing while he was at FLW. Bob was a fine man. My sincere sympathy to Marie and the family. The memory of that smile will live on in our hearts.

Bob was a wonderful man. He had a smile for you and would really listen and was interested in you. He was so kind to my children, like another grandfather. He was a great Grandpa to Tess, I remember him always taking her to breakfast at Wades. We spent many holidays together, he loved my Mom's good cooking! Even though he was a very accomplished military man, he was humble and kind. I will miss his smile!
