LaVahn M. Clapp, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home the morning of January 9, 2013. Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She met and married Merle B. Clapp on June 14, 1941. They had 3 girls, Stella Martin, Marilyn Pease and (Linda Lee-now deceased). She is survived by 3 son-in-laws, James Martin, Joe Pease and James Lee, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. LaVahn was very proud to be an Osage Indian. She was always kept informed of the news of the Nation through the Osage Newspaper and most recently her niece, Virginia. She loved her family, friends, and her pets. Someday we'll all be together again. Until then, rest in peace and go with God. No Services are planned. There will be a viewing at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, Thursday, January 17th from 1:00pm-2:00pm, and Cryptside gathering for Family, June 18th at 11:00am at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Colorado Springs Humane Society. The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Reeves and Staff, Life Care Center, Liberty Heights and Right at Home Senior Care for their kindness and support.

I did not know LaVahn, but I know her granddather Lori. I know how much Lori loved her and always talked about her sweet grandmother. LaVahn, you will be missed by both Lori and Jim. Rest in heaven knowing you are loved and missed each day. Please look over Lori.

I visited with her while I was in town. She was very sweet and a kind and gracious host. I will miss not being able to chat with her again.
