Oscar was one of the sweetest men I knew. Growing up he took time to talk to me when I didn't have anyone else around. I remember one time when I was over at the house and his daughter, Randy, and I were eating lunch. He had some desert for us so he took our paper plates and rinsed them off. I think Fern came home and said something about it but he just said that there's a coating on the plates so they could be rinsed. I do that now too.
