Paul Ellis Obituary

Paul W. Ellis, 23, of Colorado Springs, CO and formally of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Minister Jeremy Greene and Minister David Spiece officiating. The family will receive friends this evening (Friday) from 6 to 8 pm EST at the funeral home. A private interment will follow at a later date. Paul was born April 18, 1989 in Columbus, GA to Andrew H. Ellis and Patricia Diane House Luker. He was 2007 graduate of Smiths Station High School and a member of Rose Hill Church of Christ in Columbus, GA. He enjoyed video games, reading, karate, portrait drawing, was an assistant scout master for the local Boy Scouts, had a deep love for childcare and his family. In 1994 he was the Alabama State Costume Champion for Alabama Open Horse Show Association. He was employed at the Childcare and Youth Services for Fort Carson Military Base in Colorado Springs. Paul was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Nell Ellis and maternal grandfather, Morris House. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Diane Luker and husband Randy of Phenix City, AL, father, Andrew H. Ellis and wife Brenda of Phenix City, AL, maternal grandmother, Myrtle House of Phenix City, AL. Sister, Jeralyn Knight and husband James of Birmingham, AL and Tamara Coon and husband Larry of South Korea, one niece, Summer Coon and two nephews, Timothy Knight and Justin Coon, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many caring friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul Ellis can be given by check only to: Warrior Family Community Partnership Donations Office, attention: Yolanda Harless, 6371 Specker Ave Bldg #1532, Fort Carson, CO 80913.

So very sorry for your loss, Paul was an increditable young man and will be missed dearly. He touched so many lives, not just mine but everyone who knew and met him, the children adored him deeply. I worked with Paul when he helped with Paul when he helped with the baseball with the little kids at youth sports and he was certainly a joy to work with and the kids loved him. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

I knew Paul from Online Gaming, I've known him over a year and ALL his gaming friends are really saddened by his shocking death. Our Prayers and thoughts are with Paul's family. He loved his neice and nephews beyond words. Paul is greatly missed.

I was saddened to hear of Paul's death. I taught him during his time in high school. He also graduated with my daughter. Paul was a unique person and I was glad to have the chance to get to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
