Arthur Kenneth Christiansen (Art) passed away on Dec. 25, 2012. He was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Barton County, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Alice Christiansen, a son, Clay Leon and step-son, Stig von Holstein-Rathloou. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Hanne, a son, Lance Christiansen, 2 step-children Bettina von Holstein-Rathlou Erik von Holstein-Rathlou. Also survived by 2 sisters, Sandy Brown and Glenna Grant, 3 brothers David Christiansen, John Christiansen, and Bruce Christiansen. He was a beloved father and husband. He served in the Army in Korea. After that he taught dancing for two years. He loved to dance the rest of his life. He was employed by King Soopers for 38 years, where he made many friends among other employees and customers, which was made clear by him receiving 50 sympathy cards during his illness and many more from his church. He volunteered at his church for many years. Art had a keen sense of humor and loved to make others smile with his own winning smile. He loved to travel over the country and made 3 trips to Denmark with his wife. Memorial services will be held Jan. 5, 2012 at 3 o'clock at CFSL (Center for Spiritual Living) at 3685 Jeannine Dr. Donations can be made to CFSL or Pikes Peak Hospice.

Uncle Art had a terrific sense of humor and infectious laugh. He will be missed. Although gone from our sight he will always be present in the stories shared at family reunions and in the faces of those who share the Christiansen DNA.

As King Sooper employees, we always enjoyed seeing Art and his unforgettable smile. He was such a pleasant man. He enjoyed coming in and just visiting with the employees at the uintah king soopers. We all enjoyed his kind words. He was very sweet and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.
