Walter Benson Obituary

Born July 31st, 1956 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan Wyoming, Walter passed away April 9th, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Colorado Springs at the age of 56. As a beloved father, he enjoyed sharing the outdoors with his children. Some of his passions were hunting, fishing, camping, as well as exploring the wilderness. Walter retired from the Army after 21 yrs of service as a SSGT Munitions Specialist. Some of his duties included; EOD team, Small Arms repair, M1A1 - M1A2 SepV2 electronics repair, and Post Generals Sgt. Walter was a decorated Desert Storm / Shield Veteran. He lived to serve his country, and even after retirement, continued supporting the soldiers of Ft Carson as a DOL Technician. Walter is survived by four sisters: Cricket of Montana, Pat of Wyoming, Jackie of Arizona, and Robin of California; as well as his two children Krista and Walter IV, of Colorado Springs.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. While I did not know Mr. Benson, I've known Krista since junior high and she was and still is a wonderful, exceptional person. His legacy lives on through his family and children.
