Donald Dale Meyer, 60 years old, of Fountain, Colorado, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton, NE. Rev. Sheri Lodel will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Meyer was born July 23, 1953 in Fullerton to William and Jessie (Sinsel) Meyer. He grew up and attended Grand Island Senior High graduating in 1972. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1972 during the Vietnam War. His rank was Chief Petty Officer at the time of his honorable discharge in 1993. After retiring from the service he worked for Chief Industries in Grand Island. Don returned to Florida and was employed by Wise Metal Company in Pensacola, Florida until 2000. Mr. Meyer then worked for Aleut Corporation in Colorado where he was a purchaser until 2012.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Darwin Dale and Melody Meyer of Honolulu, Hawaii, Daniel Jason Meyer of Fountain, Colorado and Michael Bryon Meyer of San Diego, California; two grandsons; his mother Jessie Meyer of Fullerton; two brothers and sister-in-law; Dave and Barb Meyer of Grand Island and William Dean Meyer of Peyton, Colorado; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Tony Rotunno of Raleigh, North Carolina, Cathy and Mike McConkey of Fullerton, and Sandy and Jerry Christensen of Kearney, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his father, William T. Meyer.
