William Dagendesh Memoriam

Daddy's Arms

By William J. Dagendesh

Your lap was oh, so comfy, and your whiskers tickled me,

Your kisses made me giggle as did bouncing on your knee.

You made me feel so special, daddy's little good luck charm,

But none of these compared to when you held me in your arms.

When holding me I never knew the problems of the world,

Of hunger, pain and suffering - news not for boys and girls.

With you I felt secure and loved, and came to know no harm,

'cause daddy, you took care of me when I was in your arms.

But then one day Lord Jesus took you home up in the sky,

Please come back to me daddy, I don't want to say goodbye.

I want for you to be here, and keep me safe and warm,

The world was mine to conquer when you held me in your arms.

I never will forget your smile, nor of your loving me,

Your kisses made me giggle as did bouncing on your knee.

With you I knew a childhood, free from want and pain and harm,

How wonderful my life was when you held me in your arms.

I love and miss you, daddy, and my being in your arms.

Love always from your wife, Elaine; children William (Peggy), Linda (Tim), Laurie, Michael (Karen) and Karen; grandchildren Scott, Tom, Cathryn, Rosemary, David, Christopher and Amber; and great-granddaughter Avrielle.
