Bob G. Pierson passed away April 8, 2010 at his home in San Tan Valley, Arizona. He was born October 6, 1929 in Murphysboro, Illinois. He resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado for over 50 years and spent the winter months at San Tan Valley, Arizona for the past 10 years. He married Ethel L. Meyer on May 15, 1953 at Steeleville, Illinois. He served 2 years in the Army with the 101st Airborne. He was a carpenter by trade, a member of Carpenters Local 515 for 59 years. He was active in the union, holding offices and serving on various committees and apprenticeship programs. He retired in 1993 after serving as Business Representative of Carpenters Local 515 for 13 years. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. Various health conditions limited his physical abilities, but he met the challenge of kidney dialysis with the loving support of his family and friends in Colorado and Arizona. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ethel; one brother, Gary of Colorado Springs; three sisters: Mary Ann Browder of Chillicothe, Illinois; Patsy Bissell of Littleton, Colorado; Judy (husband, Luke) Fincher of Cahokia, Illinois; several nieces and nephews and a dear mother-in-law, Mary Meyer of Percy, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents: Everett and Pearl Pierson; brother, Jim; a nephew and a niece. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to services. Private entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.

We have been blessed through our friendship with Bob and Ethel both in Colorado Springs and in Arizona. We will miss Bob and send our love and support to Ethel.

I have many happy remembrances of my childhood and adolescence that include Bob. Visiting Colorado Springs won't seem the same without him there. RIP Uncle Bob. Thanks for the memories!
