Leonard L. Gunty , beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on November 29, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, May 5, 1933 to the late Edward and Agnes Gunty and raised by Ethel Gunty after Agnes' death. Leonard graduated from Tildon Tech High School as a machinist which was his life long career. He was a highly skilled machinist and tool and die maker; give him a drawing and he could make the part perfectly. He worked in tool and die his entire career and owned G & T Manufacturing until he retired in 2000. Family and friends were extremely important in his life and could be counted on to help when asked. He loved camping with his family in his younger years, and traveling in his motor home in later years. Len loved his Harley and riding with friends. Len loved his dogs. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Patricia Gunty, loving children, Kevin and Mark Gunty, Cheryl (Gunty) Wuerz, Thomas, Michael, and Robert Tanis, and Cathy Archibald, 18 grandchildren, and a large extended family in the Midwest. Len was preceded in death by his daughter Diane (Gunty) Purvis and grandson Nichlaus Tanis. Visitation will take place Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00, at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on December 5, 2012 at Grace and St. Steven's Episcopal Church, 601 North Tejon, Colorado Springs. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 North Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, immediately following the funeral service.
