On January 18, 2013, with her loving husband and family by her side, Louise Bowen, 75 years young, of Colorado Springs, CO. made her heavenly homecoming after a brief bout with cancer. Louise was born in Nampa, ID to Marvin and Rheba Jagger, ministers in the Church of the Nazarene. The ministry brought them to Colorado where Louise grew up and met her husband and soulmate of 56 years, Gene Bowen. They had three children while in Colorado but the family moved to Houston for 31 years due to a job transfer. As her family grew, Louise worked for 17 years as an office manager for a local business. But their hearts were never far from service to their Lord. While in Houston, Louise and Gene were very active in the local Church of the Nazarene - both becoming leaders in the youth group. Their tireless hard work and dedication to the Lord and his ministry aided many of all ages. They enjoyed travel and spending time with family. Louise committed her life to the Lord at an early age and continued in his ministry to the end. She is survived by: her husband, Gene Bowen; her children: Randy (Stacey) Bowen of Bellaire, TX; Cheryl (Cheyne) Bamford of Centennial, CO; Cindy (Don) Collins of Colorado Springs, CO; 7 grandchildren; brothers: LeRoy (Willie) Jagger; Ken (Donna) Jagger; sister Linda (Ron) Geist; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death and met at the Pearly Gates by her Mother and Father. Visitation will be at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Dr., Wednesday, January 23rd, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A homecoming service celebrating Louise's life will be held Thursday, January 24th, at 1:00 PM at Eastborough Church of the Nazarene, 4123 Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. A memorial fund has been established in Louise's name supporting Work and Witness with Eastborough Church of the Nazarene.

We are praying for the entire family and all loved ones. I know Louise will be greatly missed. I remember seeing my little nieces and nephews with the cutest hooded towels that Louise had made for their baby shower gifts. I always wondered if I would be lucky enough to receive one of those sweet little hooded towels. When we had our precious little boy, she made one for him! When I heard the news about Louise, I got it out and hugged it. I'm so thankful she shared her gifts and talents and she touched the hearts of so many! May her memory be eternal!

Louise and Gene were a vital and vibrant part of our Bellaire, Texas congregation for many years. She was always ready to assist in any way, and untiring in her devotion to her Lord and Savior. Every church should be so blessed and fortunate to have a "Louise" in their midst. Prayers and sympathy for the whole family.
