Alyce K. Barrett
March 6, 1916 - September 27, 2017
Alyce died peaceful at her home surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
For thirty years, Alyce had been the church organist at Corpus Christi Catholic Church playing two Masses every Sunday. She also assisted with the choir and played for all weddings and funerals at the church until she was 68 years old. Alyce played for funerals with the Swan-Law Funeral Directors helping countless families with the special music tributes. She was so dedicated to the families she served that often times she would have the soloist come to her home to practice to assure that all was perfect.
Every piece of music that Alyce played was offered up to her Savior Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother and gave her the greatest joy.
Alyce leaves behind to cherish her memory, son Peter Simons; daughter Mary Simons Anderson; and two grandchildren Elin Brittany Laurel Anderson and Reece Spenser Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017, Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 N. Logan Ave., Colorado Springs. A private entombment will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, please bring a card of remembrance or happy memory of Alyce by Divine Redeemer on Wednesday prior to the Mass.
