CHRISTIAN MARC DEZEEUW
March 6, 1975 March 23, 2020
Christian Marc DeZeeuw, 45, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, born on March 6, 1975 in Orange City, Iowa, passed away peacefully and without pain or fear, at home with family by his side on Monday, March 23, after a seven-year-long battle with cancer.
He was loved by any and all who had the pleasure of knowing him or who was lucky enough to experience an encounter with him. He was always more concerned over the well-being of others first, before himself.
Chris never let the hardships of his journey get him down, even up until the very end. No one lived with the same amount of love and vigor for life than Chris. He loved hard and lived well.
His sense of humor and quick wit; his excited, enthusiastic eyes and smile; his dance moves; his hugs, his contagious joy and relentless love for his family and friends, which spanned across the city, state, nation and far reaches of the world, will be deeply missed.
Some of Chris's favorite pastimes included listening to the bands Live, Barenaked Ladies and Coldplay. He always enjoyed, among friends, an Elephant Rock IPA from his favorite craft brewery, Pikes Peak Brewing Company.
Chris is survived by the love of his life and wife of nineteen years, Jen; his two boys, who were his pride and joy, Logan (15) and Eli (11); his mother and father, Carolyn and Glen DeZeeuw of Windsor, Colorado; his mother-in-law, Judy; his sister-in-law, Erin; and many other loved family members.
The world lost a pure treasure this week, life will never feel the same again without him in it. The hope and knowledge that he is with Jesus now, pain-free and whole again, sustains those who feel his absence. Not long before his passing he said, "Either way, I win." Meaning, if he conquered the disease he wins, if he goes home to Jesus, he wins.
May Chris's spirit always be a shining light from heaven. We love you, Chris. You are our DZ. Long live DZ Nation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pikes Peak Brewing Company at a date to be determined.

A thought of Chris randomly entered my mind tonight, so I thought I'd look him up on the Internet. I have not seen him since high school. I was very shocked and sad to see that he passed this year leaving a wonderful family behind.
I've got a few fun Chris stories I'd love to share with his family, from the younger days, if you would like to reach out to me please feel free to do so.
