Retired, Command Sergeant Major
Retired, Command Sergeant Major Frank L. Belford died Saturday, September 30, 2017 with his wife by his side. Belford was born January 17, 1936 in Bloomburg, Texas to Arteria and Joe Belford. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, Texas in 1955. Belford was drafted into the military in 1959 and had an illustrious military career. He retired after 30 years of service while stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. Belford was a proud and active member of Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Belford was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister; Joe Belford, Jr., Calvin Belford, Tommie Belford, William Belford, and Willie B. Chiles; He is survived by his wife, Era Belford, son Timothy Belford, daughter Nichole M. Belford, step daughter Melissa Robinson, step sons Anthony Gaines, and George Fedrick, sisters Betty Jo Scott, Patsy Gibson, Elmira Moore, Helen Gibson and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, October 6, 2017 following with Funeral Services at 11:00 am at Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church, 3625 Marion Drive with full Military Honors. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting
