March 17, 1924 - June 20, 2018
Leona Johanna Jindra, 94, passed away from this world, June 20th, 2018, at Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City, Colorado.
Leona was the manager of Frontier Stamps Redemption Center in Colorado Springs for many years.
Leona was born March 17, 1924 on her aunt's farm in Lastrup, MN.
Leona will always be remembered as a gracious, kind, and fun lady.
Leona enjoyed traveling, dancing, crocheting, and knitting.
Leona and George were married shortly after WWII and lived in several places to include Germany while George was serving in the United States Army. While they were stationed in Colorado Springs at 'Camp Carson', Leona said, "This is where I want to live". Leona loved Colorado.
Leona is survived by her daughter, Linda (James) Bacchus, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son, Jeffery (Maria) Jindra, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren, Christine Bacchus of Oakland, California, Cassie(Dan) Shute of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Dodd Jindra of Colorado Springs, Colorado and one great-granddaughter, Crystal, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Karl "Oscar" Nordstrom and Margaret "Maggie" Nagel Nordstrom from Onamia, Minnesota and her husband, George Vincent Jindra, Ret.Maj.USA.
