Hollis Stewart Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother Hollis Jane (Lints) Stewart. Hollis passed away April 1, 2022, at Sunnyside Manor PCH, Birtle, MB at the age of 98.
Hollis was born on February 14, 1924, to Alfred & Euretta Lints in Crandall, MB. Hollis married Robert Stewart of Isabella on January 1, 1945. They began their married life on the farm, working side by side for over 50 years. Three children, Renee, Neil, and Shelley arrived to complete their family. A huge part of Bob and Hollis's life was supporting their family in all their activities, hockey, figure skating, ball, 4-H, church choir, festivals, school sports and many more.
Hollis was very active in the community, singing in the church choir, member of the Isabella UCW, and cooked and worked the many Fall suppers, the bonspiels, dance socials, weddings, and sports days. Bob and Hollis loved to dance. Hollis was best known for her Flapper pies, buns, biscuits, scones, etc. Hollis loved to dress up and enjoyed curling with her good friends.
Music was a large part of Hollis's life. One of her favourites on the piano was the 12th Street Rag. Those piano keys rang out loud and clear.
In the 1980s Hollis joined the workforce at Morley House in Shoal Lake. She loved working at the Personal Care Home. She was a part of the entertainment when the Isabella UCW travelled to the home. Following a knee injury, she could no longer work at the home.
Hollis (Mom) was a loving, devoted and caring woman. She will be greatly missed by all her family. Mom has left us with so many memories and we are so grateful for her life here with us.
She is survived by her daughter Renee (Bill) Armitage, son Neil (Cheryl) Stewart, daughter Shelley (Ron) Gardham, and grandchildren Wendy Vernon, Tracie (Jason) Groff, Shawna (James) Pauls, Lanny (Kali) Stewart, Kelly (Chelsea) Gardham, Cory (Trisha) Gardham, Curtis (Tiphany) Gardham, great-grandchildren, Jada Dzaman; Justin, Joshua Groff; Nixon, Keaton Stewart; Kristan (Max) Behl; Matthew Pauls; Andie, Shay, Layker, Eloise, Emery, Renn, Clarke Gardham; great-great-grandson Kaden Behl; and sister-in-law Tiny Stewart; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Hollis was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), parents Alfred & Euretta Lints, sisters and brothers-in-law Edna Anderson, Elva (Bill) Gilchrist (Mike Boris), Lois (Buster) Brad, Della (Garnet) Robertson, Chrissy (Murray) Wade, Fern (Russell) Dzaman; brothers Samford Lints, Elwood (Allie) Lints; brothers-in-law Murray Stewart, Garth Stewart, and sister-in-law Shirley (Vail) Stewart.
A family graveside service was held at the Isabella Cemetery, Isabella, MB on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Reception for friends and family followed at the Isabella Community Hall. In mom's honour, Marj Barteaux played the 12th Street Rag on her accordion.

"She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space...not even death."
Rest in Peace Mom.
Love Always
Your family, Renee, Neil, Shelley, and families
