ERIKA BOUCHY
April 29, 1941 January 5, 2021
Erika Bouchy, age 79, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on January 5, 2021 at Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs. She was born Erika Brunhilde Templin near Torun, Prussia during World War II. Erika was loved and will always be remembered by her sons, Peter and Jacques; her daughters-in-law, Lorrie and Ann; and her four grandchildren, Monique, Logan, Brigette and Nicolas. She is preceded in death by her sisters Friedel Lange and Mildred Price and survived by her sisters Alina Hartmann and Edeltraut Schssler who both still live in Germany.
Erika moved to Colorado Springs in 1967 where she raised her two sons Peter and Jacques. She became a US citizen in 1973, a day that our family celebrated in grand fashion.
An outgoing and social lady, Erika would light up any room she entered. She loved to host social gatherings and parties. Through her work at Northrup Grumman and CDS, Erika showed she truly cared for people. She formed many enduring relationships with her colleagues who considered her a treasured friend.
A small family memorial will be held on January 25th, 2021 and we plan to host a virtual celebration of her life in February. We are heartbroken, but we will carry her love and memories with us until we are together again.

It's been a year now. A year without a phone call to her. A year to remember her. I'm still very sad. This Christmas I was happy that we spent Christmas 2018 together in Ohio with Ramona and Don Ayers. My first Christmas together with Erika. My only Christmas with Erika. I'm in tears. I miss her so much. With love Dieter.

What a remarkable woman she was. As a little boy on a day in June in 197? I realized that she was mom's favorite sister. My aunt. And she quickly became my favorite aunt. She accepted me for who I am. She once said to me on the phone: "There are planes flying to America. Visit me." I visited her for the first time in September 1995. I felt at home with her. Whenever she came to Germany, I was always the little excited boy. I am so grateful for the many moments and conversations with her. Nobody can take them away from me. As long as my heart beats Erika is in my life. I miss you. I am so grateful to her and infinitely sad. In love; Dieter

I knew Erika during my 18-year career at TRW. She would always greet me with a warm smile and cheerful "Hello, Pete." We shared many good times, laughs and stories at work. Erika was well liked and highly respected by all. My sincere condolences to her family for their heart breaking loss. Am interested to know the specifics of her virtual celebration of life when they become available.

She was a wonderful Aunt. I loved visiting her when my grandparents took me to Colorado when I was young. She was a good cook and introduced me to a brown sugar toast. I was blessed to see her again at our Florida family reunion. She will be missed.
