JAMES "JIM" LIPTOW
January 31, 1931 December 4, 2018
James (Jim) Robert Liptow, 87, passed away December 4, 2018. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 21 years, and was a former resident of Burkburnett, TX, Meadville and Ford City, PA. He worked at PPG Industries as a supervisor for 44 years before his retirement in 1993.
Jim was born on January 31, 1931 to Joseph Liptow and Phyllis (Dean) Liptow in Ford City, PA. On July 16, 1952, he married Patricia Joanne (Bouch) Liptow in Ford City, PA.
Jim enjoyed playing golf and woodworking. He was a member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church, where he was active in the church choir and Knights of Columbus. He attended Ford City High School, graduating in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Korean War.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Liptow; his brother, Jerome Liptow; children: Tami (Liptow) Kephart, Timothy Liptow, and Scott Liptow; grandchildren: James Liptow, Nicklaus Kephart, Jessica Romero, Ashley Dunn, Alex Kephart, and Amy Hall; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; and 2 sisters.
Funeral service will be held 2PM Monday, December 10, followed by entombment at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A reception will follow the entombment at the Kephart family home.
Memorials in Jim's name may be made to Brookdale Hospice, 7222 Commerce Center Dr #140, COS, CO 80919.
