PAULA MEADOWS
November 3, 1934 November 30, 2018
Paula Meadows, age 84, a long-time resident of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018. Her family was by her side. Paula was born on November 3, 1934 in Stamsried, Germany, a daughter of the late Josef and Franziska (Bauer) Zilker.
She grew up in Germany and moved to the United States with her husband in the mid 1950's and eventually they settled with their only child in Colorado Springs. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She worked for 22 years at Ampex in the test tooling department where she met many friends who continued their friendships even after they retired. She enjoyed getting together with everyone for lunches and dinners throughout the years.
She loved the many dogs she had as pets over the years, enjoyed going to eat at German restaurants in town, liked to go out and look at new cars and homes, but she especially loved spending time with her three great grandchildren who were the lights of her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph C. Meadows; her daughter, Monika Chastain; her brother, Josef Zilker; her sister, Irmgard Lohr; and her sisters-in law, Gerda Weber and Annie Jo Gartrell.
Paula is survived by her granddaughter, Christina (Jay) Uebelhart and her 3 great grandchildren: Jadyn, Christopher and Zachary Uebelhart; her nieces and nephews in Germany and Georgia; and a host of extended family and dear friends. She will truly be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paula's memory to The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region or the Breast Cancer Foundation to fund treatment and find a cure for metastatic breast cancer.
A visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 E.
