Catherine died peacefully after a brief illness on 29th January 2026. Beloved wife and life partner of Douglas. Treasured mother to Adam, Saul and the late Leafa, grandmother to Rawiri and Orewa. Loved sister of Richard and Jane, aunt and great-grandmother, and daughter of Peggy and Dick Benefield. Respected, passionate and fearless community advocate, politician, feminist, theologian, broadcaster, business woman, iconoclast and agitator. Thanks to the staff of Wellington Hospital for their tender care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance, www.wfa.org.nz/donate. Messages "for the Wilson Family" c/- PO Box 50-347, Porirua 5240. There will be a private burial, followed by a memorial meeting at Summerset Aotea, 15 Aotea Drive, Porirua, on Wednesday 4th February 2026 at 3.00pm.
