Meeting Aaron at the gym and getting to know him..Aaron was friendly, funny, encouraging, and a great conversationalist. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He touched many with his words. Our prayers are with the Amptmeyer family.

Aaron, hey buddy, I don't know how to even begin this, I am at a loss for words when I heard the news about your passing.
It will be said and it's all been said in your life story in your obit. I am heartbroken, I'll miss being on the ice with you during the old pucker's skates. I'll miss talking with you and texting with you from time to time. I'll miss seeing you around the neighborhood as a neighbor and also as a police officer protecting the citizens of St. John and Northwest Indiana.

I didn’t get to meet you, Aaron, unfortunatelyI wish I didbut nothing could compare to the love you brought my best friend, Brittany. I felt the love in every pic/video/snap/text she sent me. She felt seen, loved, and understood and taken care of. She was so excited to be apart of you and your daughter’s world! I was told Holland went to FRA and as an alumni, I was so excited for Holland! FRA gave me some of my best memories in life! Aaron, you were such a real hero and gentleman! I thank you for giving her your heart and trust and everything as did she. Once you earn the trust and love of Brittanywoofyou are so lucky! She surrounds you with her powerful love and protects you to the ends of time! I’m glad you got to feel her love and protection! Know you always will!

I knew Aaron for many years, I was their family’s waitress every Saturday morning at RTC restaurant, they were such a loving family, the boys were so respectful, may he rest in peace, my thoughts and prayers are with his family

Dear Amptmeyer Family,
Although this post cannot stop the sadness, hurt, and emptiness you feel, we hope that it shows you that we feel it with you during this time of tremendous loss and grief. There is a deep loss among us in Law Enforcement who worked with and alongside Aaron.

Aaron’s strength, courage, and bravery will be remembered today and every day. Take comfort in knowing that your loved one served his Country, State, and Community, with Distinction, Honor, and Bravery.

Aaron thanks for being a friend over the years and making all these concerts the last month a much better time. Your passion for your team was something incomparable to anything.
