ANDREW SMITH Obituary

Andrew Smith was born on October 1, 1942, in London, England, and passed away after a short illness in Paris, France, on September 18, 2025. Andrew was the cherished husband of Ruth Bothern for 43 years; the beloved father of Anne-Marie Smith, Christopher Smith, and Anna Foord-Bevan; and the adored grandpa of Natina Smith, Deniz Smith, Defne Smith, Jack Bevan, and Sam Bevan. His ashes will remain in Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris, but his spirit will remain alive in our hearts forever.

I am very sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. Andrew was on the LawPRO Board when I arrived there. He was an outstanding Board member who brought his business acumen and experience to the Board with dedication and purpose. And he was a great guy to talk to and share a drink with after meetings. I will also take this opportunity to thank Andrew for his parting gift of providing another excellent reason to go to Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise in Paris. It is a wonderful place to visit and will be all the more so knowing that Andrew is there. If you have never been there, make sure to buy a map from one of the vendors near the entrance. Be sure to take the Metro to get there and enjoy one of the few remaining historical metro entrances from the classic Art Nouveau period, which is right across the street. Bravo Andrew . . . well done! With respect and admiration, my sympathies to the family. Clare Brunetta
