Carol LaFavor Obituary

WELCOME:    A Celebration of Life Service for Carol A. LaFavor, 72, of  Welcome, Minnesota   will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Welcome, Minnesota with Pastor Kay Rohloff officiating.  Private Family Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery in  Garden City, Minnesota on Sunday.       

Carol was called to her eternal rest on Friday evening, June 24, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, Minnesota. Visitation will be  one hour prior to the service at the Church on Saturday.

Carol Ann Daugherty was born on May 12, 1950 to Donald and Neva (Behling) Daugherty in Ames, Iowa.  Along with her family they lived throughout the Minnesota-Iowa area until  moving to Prescott, Wisconsin and that is where she graduated from high school.  On September 25, 1971 she was united in marriage to William George LaFavor at fort devens, Massachusetts while Bill was serving in the military. They moved to Augsburg, Germany for three years until moving back to the United States in 1974.  They lived in the east coast until settling in Welcome, Minnesota in May of 1978.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.  Carol enjoyed camping, playing games with family, traveling and cooking. 

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” LaFavor of Welcome, Minnesota; three children, daughters, Michelle Ahrens of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and Laura Justice of Fairmont, Minnesota, son, William J. LaFavor of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren, Michael Ahrens, Jenna-Lee Minscer, Sarah Justice, Clarice LaFavor and Wyatt LaFavor; seven great-grandchildren; Elijah Minscer, Eliana Minscer, Ezra Minscer, Bella Minscer, Becca Minscer, Parker Justice and Elizabeth Ahrens; two brothers, John (Marilee) Daugherty of Elk River, Minnesota and Ronald Daugherty of Fairmont, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Keith (Shirley) LaFavor of Garden City, Minnesota and Roger (Jennifer) LaFavor of Dothan, Alabama; sister-in-law, Patricia (Dave) Rambo of Alden, Minnesota; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Neva Daugherty; father and mother-in-law, George and Kay LaFavor; infant daughter, Jennifer Jean LaFavor; brother, Dave (Valerie) Daugherty; sister, Donna (Art) Swanson; sister-in-law, Margaret (Roy) Fergenson and other relatives.
