Charles Fjeld Obituary
Chuck "Charles" Fjeld, age 80, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota formerly of Ham Lake, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in his home under the care of his loving family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Charles Michael Fjeld was born on November 16, 1943, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Melvin and Helen (Enger) Fjeld. He was raised in Elbow Lake, MN and graduated with the class of 1961.
Charles was a Vietnam Veteran who served upon the aircraft carrier USS. Kearsarge from 1963-1967. After his service duty, Chuck began working in the food service industry. He worked for 42 years for Sysco Foods and retired as a Master Marketing Associate in 2009.
He was a lifetime member of the Sgt John Rice VFW Post 6316, and the American Legion Post 15.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 55 years Eva Fjeld; children Jeff Fjeld, Lynn (Steven) Drewes, and Jason (Deann Recker) Fjeld; grandchildren Lorissa (Tosh) Virk, Brianna (Dominic Steele), Ariana (Eric Thielen) Fjeld and Kyra Fjeld; and sister Helene Olson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church. Charles will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake, Minnesota.
