Clarence Chuck Galloway III, son of the late Clarence Galloway II and the late Ruby Thomas Galloway, born in Philadelphia on June 18, 1953 and departed life on December 24, 2020.
As a young man, Chuck graduated from Overbrook High School then attended Cheyney State University. A few years later Chuck met Marguerite “Terri” Butts. When her job moved her to Houston, Texas, he left everything in Philadelphia to be with her. Then on May 17, 1980 they were united in holy matrimony. From that union Christopher Justin Galloway and Michael Erik Galloway were born. Their births started what he considered his most important job, being a father. Chuck loved to talk about the “good old days”. He could go on forever, especially if the topic was Motown music, riding horses and playing basketball with his friends. Because of his love of sports, he enjoyed coaching Christopher and Michaels’ baseball and basketball teams, much to their dismay!
After 23 years in Texas, the Galloways moved back to Philly. Chuck became even more vigilant and involved with Christopher and Michael. It worked because they grew up without incident, went away to school and moved out.
Fast forward to 2017 when Chuck was diagnosed with cancer. He was continuing his fight with cancer when he tested positive for Covid 19 on November 30, 2020. On December 24, 2020, he succumbed to complications brought on by Covid 19.
Chuck leaves his loving wife, Terri; sons Christopher and Michael; sisters Barbara and Pamela; brother in-law Howard, a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
