David C. Williams, 68, of Elizabeth, WV, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at home. He was born in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Sam Williams and Jayne Williams. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Stephanie McCulty, his infant daughter, Brianna Rae and family dog, Benji.
Dave was a devout Christian and a member of Merrill Chapel Community Church of Elizabeth, WV. Dave was a 1974 graduate of Wirt County High School. He was also a member of the sheet metal union in his early years and a construction worker (HVAC) by trade. Dave attended WVU and graduated in 2000 where he received a mathematics education degree. Once he started teaching Dave found his calling in life. He made a difference in many of his students’ lives and enjoyed learning about them and their cultures. During his down time, he enjoyed hunting, hiking, collecting arrowheads, giving his kids the weather report for wherever they were, and he loved watching football. After retirement he enjoyed his time mowing the lawn, watching the wildlife out of his office window at home, watching the space stations, sharing puns and Dad jokes, and especially enjoyed time with his grandkids. One of his great jobs in his life was being Pop-Pop.
His memory will be cherished by his surviving loved ones, including his wife Angie, daughters Kyrie (Logan) of Woodbridge VA; Sydney (Grant) of Alexandria, VA; Brittani (Thomas) of Elizabeth, WV; and Reagan (Wes) of Fairmont, WV and grandchildren Isabella, Harper, Oliver, Olivia, Ruth, Makenzi, Jack and Hazel, and his beloved dog Zeus.
There will be a memorial service at 1 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth WV, with Delmus Stutler, a personal friend, who is officiating. Friends may call and visit from noon to 1 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the funeral home.
