Clinton “Ray” Boehm, age 73, a Reedsville resident, died Tuesday evening, March 22, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 16, 1949 in Madison, West Virginia, son of the late Clinton F. & Hester Mae (Jarrell) Boehm. Ray attended Scott High School, Madison, WV, College of Lake County, and obtained a degree in small engine repair from Grayslake, Illinois. Ray was a Veteran of the Marine Corps. for 18 months. During his time in the Marines, he served in Vietnam. Ray received two Purple Hearts, the Naval Accommodation Metal, the Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and was an Expert Rifleman. On August 9, 1970 he married the former Maggie Ellis in Madison, West Virginia. After his military service, Ray worked as an operator mechanic at Great Lakes Naval Base for 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, anything military, and LOVED cars. Survivors include his wife: Maggie, Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law Sheila (Peter) Hunse, Appleton; a son and daughter-in-law: Michael (Isela) Boehm, San Antonio, TX.; his grandchildren: Zachary “Zack” (girlfriend Rachael), Madison, WI., Hailey (boyfriend Grant), Kaukauna, Brandon Boehm, Vance Air Force Base, OK, Brian Boehm, Fort Benning, GA.; two sisters and brother-in-law: Rosetta “Tiny” (Glen) Adkins, Margaret Boehm; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Philip “Tike” (Linda) Boehm, Bobby (Vicki) Boehm, all of West Virginia; and sisters-in-law: Patsy Hill, WV., Pansy McClanahan, TN., Connie Verne, IL. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Clarence & Ida Ellis; a sister and brother-in-law: Brenda “Dooke” (Richard) Wheatley; a brother: Fredrick Boehm; and two brothers-in-law: Billy McClanahan and LeRoy Verne. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, from 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022 until 4:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL.
