COLIN P. ROBERTSON was born August 2, 1950 in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland. He died peacefully at the age of 74 on July 14, 2025 with his loving wife by his side.
Colin was a beloved husband of 18 years to Linda Kelly; loving father of Shannon Robertson (Massimo), Colleen Robertson (Dito), Shawn Robertson and the late Patrick Robertson and Maureen Robertson; cherished grandfather of Michael (Jade), Sgt. First Class Zachary, Connor, Kyleigh, Duncan, Ryan, Rylee, Isabella, Aiden, Olivia and Juliet; great-grandfather of Everly, Penelope and Scarlett; son of the late Mary (nee O'Malley) of Westport, Ireland and Colin Robertson of Glasgow, Scotland; brother of Tom (deceased) and John; loving son-in-law of Deanna Kelly (Frank, deceased); brother-in-law of Michael Kelly (Cheryl), Kevin Kelly (Theresa) and Susan Kelly; uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Colin graduated from "Father Flanigan's Boys Town" in Omaha, Nebraska in 1969. He still kept in touch with some of his classmates.
Colin umpired for the Greater Cleveland Umpires Association for 40 plus years. He was the President for the past 10 years. He loved the game and the people he got to know along the way. He was known for his no-nonsense attitude. he would always say, " make up my mind", "do we settle down and finish the game or do we go home now." The organization lost a good leader. Colin belonged to "the Social Club", a group of men whose motto is "people helping people". They held events and raised money for those in need. This group of men and their families have become good friends.
Colin was a strong supporter of law enforcement and respected the men and women in blue.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Colin was instrumental in running our Greater Cleveland Police Officer Memorial Society Softball Tournament which benefited the families of Fallen First Responders. Colin spent countless hours over the 10years of the Tournament ensuring that it would be a success . On behalf of our entire team of Tournament coordinators, we extend our deepest sympathy to Linda and the entire Robertson family.

We first met in 1977. We were softball teammates. He played for my father. He became and instant "mentor" and the "older brother" I never had. Thanks for being not only an umpire mentor, but a great friend. Until we meet again. Thanks

Greatest umpire for the Bard Lady Raptors. Fair funny and we could joke around with him just as much as he did with us (of course we absolutely DID) Huge loss my heart goes out to his family at this incredibly difficult time

Colin was a true friend in the sense of the word. He was always kind and respectful even when we were going through school together. He loved basketball as well as baseball. We stayed friends from the time we were at Boyce town up until now. I pray that he meets father Flanagan When he goes to heaven. Colin, my brother, you will be missed by all of your friends from BoysTown the class of 1969. Take care of my brother.

Colin was truly a kind hearted guy - who reached out to our family and did something that was so wonderful for our daughter than he may not really know how much it meant to us and our daughter. Thank you Colin for thinking of us and always welcoming us with a hug and a smile. RIP. Love Ron and Kim Ross

My great friend who I had so many great times with umpiring, drinking at the Mannerchor, working as partners officiating CYO basketball and instructing the new umpires in our umpire school. Colin even joined me in ride along when I was a policeman where I had to reel the feisty Irishman in more than once with the goofballs we encountered. I will never forget getting you my friend, may the Lord Jesus take you by the hand and lead you to your dear daughter Maureen and son Patrick. May God bless you also Linda and just call if you are in need of anything.
