Gretna…....David Glen “Chief” Brumfield, age 63 of Gretna died Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his residence.
Born August 11, 1958 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Lelia Shelton Brumfield of Gretna and the late James “Otis” Brumfield. He was predeceased by a son, Cody David Brumfield who he thought of as his best friend. David was an employee of Carr’s Enterprises, a member of the Gretna Volunteer Fire Department and of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanic work, and driving his tow truck.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Betty Dalton Brumfield of the residence; three daughters, Ashley Nicole Brumfield of Gretna, Tiffany Brumfield Christopher and husband, Brooks of Martinsville, and Macy Grace Brumfield of Gretna; three grandchildren, Ethan Levi Christopher, Lily Mae Christopher, and Izabella Grace Brumfield; three brothers, Kenneth Brumfield of Gretna, Duane Brumfield and wife, Lisa of Gretna, and Ricky Brumfield of Gretna; and one sister, Ava Huffman and husband, Slick of Hurt.
Memorial graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.

You will be missed so much my Friend since we were in High-school. We had really long talks sitting and talking since we each had lost a child these recent years.
Chief , You helped me so many times with my vehicles breaking down. You also came to have supper with me when I cooked rabbit and squirrel and different things over the years. I will miss you so much my Friend.
