Edward McGonagle Obituary

Edward "Ted" McGonagle, of Granada Hills, California, passed away on December 22, 2024, at age 66. Ted is the beloved husband of Mary Ellen (Dougherty) and father of Christina, Patrick, and Catherine (Catie).


Ted was born in 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the oldest of Mary and Ed McGonagle's five children. Most of Ted's childhood was spent in Pelham, New York and he attended Fordham Preparatory High School in the Bronx before travelling across the country to attend Reed College in Portland, Oregon.


Ted's greatest joy in the world was his family. He loved being involved in his children's lives and took great joy in their many achievements.


In 2015, Ted was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. With optimism, a sense of humor, and force of spirit, he far exceeded expectations and lived for almost ten more years.

Ted is also survived by his sisters Maria, Rosemary, and Christina. He was pre-deceased by his parents, and his brother Peter,

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Euphrasia's Catholic Church in Granada Hills, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Colon Cancer Foundation (CFF)
