Everette Pickens Obituary

Everette Royce Pickens was born on June 27, 1983, to the late Everette Earl Pickens, Sr., and Roicetta Jewel Ford in Houston, Texas. Everette was a very lovable boy growing up. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Christian Hope Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

Everette attended Anderson Elementary, Fondren Middle School, and graduated from High Tower High School in 2002. While at High Tower, Everette played football for the High Tower Hurricanes. As a young boy, he also played football for the Pop Warner little league team. Everyone knew how much he loved football, especially the Houston Texans. Everette was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed working out and taking long walks. One of his other great loves was caring for cats and dogs.

Everette was a faithful reader of the Bible, which he read every single day without fail. He was a powerful prayer warrior who could get a prayer through. Everette is now at rest—no more pain, no more medicine, no more treatments, and no more chains to hold him here on earth.

On July 8, 2025, Everette Royce “Lil Tiger” Pickens entered peaceful rest to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in transition by his father, Everette Earl “Big Tiger” Pickens, Sr.; three grandparents, Myresa and John C. Pickens, Sr., and Royce Ford; his uncle, John Earl “Blue” Pickens; and two cousins, Joseph “Tutu” Pickens and Trenton Pickens.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Roicetta Jewel Ford Pickens; his brother, Eric Pickens, Sr.; his nephew, Eric Pickens, Jr.; his grandmother, Melba Tyler Ford; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
