Gabriel "Jamie" Stokes Obituary

STOKES, Mrs. Gabriel-age 44, of Flint, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507. Pastor Nick Heit officiating. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint, MI.  Calling hours are 1:00pm - 7:00pm Friday, October 18, 2019 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel. Those desiring to make memorial contributions can do so directly to the family.

Gabriel was born July 28, 1975 in Flint, MI, the daughter of James and Diane Stokes.  Gabriel, lovingly called 'Jamie" by her family and friends graduated from Carman-Ainsworth High School and would later pursue a nursing degree at Mott Community College. Gabriel was a member of The Bridge Church, she loved to read, walk, listen to music and help anyone and everyone that she could. Her most prized joy in life was caring for her three beautiful daughters. 

Mrs. Gabriel Stokes leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Shawn Denny; daughters, Shawntia, Mercedes and Mya Denny all of Flint; mother, Diane Stokes all of Flint; nieces, Jonesha Vincent, Kadisha and Jessica Brown; nephews, Lakhari and Jessie Brown all of Flint; a host of other nieces and nephews she loved as her own; 3 cousins, McKenzie Family, mother and father-in-law, Maxine and Willie Perry and many other family and friends that she loved dearly. 

Gabriel was preceded in death by: father, James and sister, Chanel Stokes.
