But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount upwith wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, andnot wait.” Isaiah 40:31

Mrs. Gay Nell Wilson Nolden was born April 16, 1931 to the late James and Callie Mae Wilson, in Fayette County, Alabama. She was educated in Fayette County schools. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined with Palestine Baptist Church. Her lovely singing voice led her to join with Sacred Heart note singers in the area. At the time of her death, she was a beloved member of New Grove Baptist Church.

In 1949, she united in Holy matrimony with Willie Lee Nolden. Their union was blessed with six children. They were true to their vows, “until death shall separate us,” as they remained married until Willie Lee passed into Glory in May 2013. Her daughter, Barbara Nolden Jiles and son George Nolden also preceded her in death.                                                                                                                          She leaves to cherish her memory and uphold her legacy, two sons: James Lee Nolden and Willie Dell Nolden (Martha Sue) both of Bankston, AL; two daughters: Brenda Nolden of Bankston, AL and Gloria Nolden (Cedric) Thomas of Tuscaloosa, AL; 18 grandchildren, 48 great grands and 10 great-great grands; two brothers: James Wilson (Brenda) of Fayette, AL and Truman Wilson of Northport, AL; three sisters-in-law: Jeanette Nolden Hunter, Dessie Nolden Smith and Martha Nolden of Bankston, AL and a host of other relatives and friends that will truly miss her.
