George W. Webster, 79, beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Helena, Arkansas on July 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 15, 1946, in Helena, Arkansas, to George W. Sr. and Catherine Tate Webster, George spent his entire life in his cherished hometown.
A 1964 graduate of Central High School, George married the love of his life, Pat Darr, on July 29, 1966, in Marianna, Arkansas. They established their home in Helena, West Helena, where they joyously raised two sons and watched their family grow with the addition of three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
George was a dedicated employee at Mohawk Rubber Co., from where he eventually retired. He was a man of many interests, but his love for hunting and fishing was only surpassed by the love he had for spending time with his grandchildren. George was a man of faith and was a long-standing member of the West Helena Baptist Church, where he had worshiped since his childhood.
George was preceded in death by his father, George W. Sr., mother Catherine Tate Webster, brother Charles "Butch" Moon, and sisters Shirley Morgan and Barbara Raines.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Pat Darr Webster, sons George Webster III (Joy) of Moyock, NC, Jason Webster (Leslie) of Helena, Arkansas, three grandchildren, Elizabeth Brown of Raynham, MA, Sarah Ward of Grenada, MS (Jennifer), Jace Webster of Helena, AR (Macie), and nine great-grandchildren, Marlee, Cayson, Clark, Cash, Lakelynn, Annsley, Amelia, Emily, and Kenny.
George will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his love for the outdoors, and his steadfast faith. His passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but his love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
George's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His story reminds us that every day is a gift and that our lives can be filled with joy when we focus on family, faith, and the simple pleasures of life.
