Gerard was a Legend here in Recreation Plantation in Florida! He loved to play shuffleboard, and he & his life partner Jody Wells, were our softball's team biggest fans. After the games he loved to hang out on the Crestview Porch of Bob & Gloria Bierwirth's, and hear or discuss more about the ballgame, or the shuffleboard games, how many he had won or lost...He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he made me laugh so often, and I came to love the porch visits as well. We will all miss those porch meetings....These last few years he kept all of us on our toes with close calls in and out of the hospital. Still, if he felt better one day, he'd show up on the Shuffleboard court to play, and then rest/sleep the rest of that day. The following day we'd hear he was back in the hospital, I've never seen a man with so many ups & downs, and still be determined to get out & play....he had about 10 lives I think! He will be sadly missed here in our park, and on our street. Ron & I feel blessed & fortunate to have met him, call him our friend, and hear his many tales & stories of his life growing up, trips he took, and his adventures here in Recreation Plantation....Rest in Peace our friend - Miss you, and love you Gerard......

We met Gerard in Recreation Plantation RV Park several years ago , He was a great friend and loved playing shuffleboard and we had some great games hoping to be able to beat him , he was a wonderful player so it was a hard thing to do about half of the time. Some really fun times. RIP Gerard

Rest in Peace My Friend. We will miss you at our RP softball games. Gerard was one of our biggest fans in the stands at our softball games here in Florida. I always looked for him when I was up to bat. He would always give me a word of encouragement.
