Jim and I served together in the 1-210th Armor, he was the Battalion Operations officer and I was one of the Bn master gunners. We worked hand in hand helping to train tank crews. I miss his sense of humor and laugh. He was an exceptional leader and a fine officer. I will see you on the green Sir!

My condolences to Jim Coyne's Family.
He was a great officer and mentor to me during my military career. I met him for the first time at the iTAM in Saratoga as he conducted an interview with me for the position of company commander for C Co, 101CAV. I had the chance to catch-up with him back in November, for the last time, at the ITAM and glad I did. I will miss you sir! God bless.

My uncle Jim is a hero to our nation. I learned to understand more about his experiences and how he served as I grew older to appreciate all he has devoted his life too. He is a character. I loved his stories and his opinions. I am so sad that he didn’t get to meet my husband Gabe because I think the two of them would have enjoyed one another. He is a legend and I am proud to be his niece. Thank you uncle Jim for serving and preserving what our country stands for. May you rest in peace with aunt Nancy, uncle Mark,Grandma C, and all your family and friends. #warrior

I worked for LTC Coyne when he was the G2. It was an honor to serve with him, and I was in awe of how he motivated soldiers to get the mission complete. I’m sure we went through a couple of Warfighters together. Sir, again, it was an honor to work for you, and a greater honor to call you a friend.

My sincerest condolences to Jim’s family.
Jimmy was one of the finest soldiers I had the honor to serve with. He was a consummate professional and very effective leader as evidenced by his rise through the ranks as a platoon leader, company commander and battalion commander. He was loved by those he served with especially the members of the units he commanded. We enjoyed many good times and plenty of laughs. Rest in Peace good friend. You are missed.

First I would like to express my condolences to the Coyne family for the loss of a great man and the friend I've had for 34 years, but for some reason, we could never get together. Sometimes life doesn't work out the way you think it should. When I first met up with Jim after high school at one of our reunions, I fell in love in a heart beat. I used to call Jim Major Dad, then he became a Col. He will always have a place in my heart and the feeling never left. Love to you all and God Bless! I hope I will meet him again some day in Heaven.

Jim was a super soldier as well as a great person. I didn’t know anyone that didn’t like Jim. He was a great friend to me and a guy who we could depend on for all things military. I knew him through out most of his military career as someone that excelled by using common sense and an engaging leadership style. He will be missed. God Bless you Jim.

Officer, Gentleman, and personal friend. We called him the Senior Man and sometimes because of his nature, a small circle would call him Dad. That is the affection we had for this warrior. He will be sorely missed by all.

I was fortunate to meet Jimmy through his brother Brian. I always enjoyed being a part of conversations with him and Brian. Jimmy was funny, quick witted and enjoyed sharing his views about current events in the country. He was a brilliant man who served his country valiantly in the military. I’m honored to have met him.
My condolences to his loving family.
