James Malte Obituary

James Allen Malte, 88, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on June 19, 2025, in West Palm Beach, FL. James Allan Malte was born in Wartburg, TN, to Reverend Reinhardt Edward and Thelma Irene Malte (Zumstein) on June 25, 1936. He was married to Nancy Malte (Trescott) for over 42 years and they wed in West Palm Beach, FL. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Valparaiso and his MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He worked as an accountant for over 55 years including over 40 years as a CPA.  He was a veteran and served during peacetime in the Army, awarded a Good Conduct Medal.  He loved the Lord, all sports, especially golf, the Florida Marlins (MLB) and the Florida Panthers (NHL).  James attended All Saints Lutheran Church in Blairsville GA when he was a resident in Blairsville.


    James is preceded in death by his parents Reverend Reinhardt Edward and Thelma Irene Malte (Zumstein), brothers William Malte and David Malte.  


    James is survived by his wife Nancy Malte; daughter Melinda Kasten and son-in-law Daniel Kasten; brothers Daniel Malte and wife Karen; Richard Malte and wife Maria; sister Constance Smith; sister-in-law Jane Malte; grandchildren Jason Kasten and Hailey Kasten. Extended family members include Deborah Wiggins; Sharon and Denver Gammons; Holly and Lloyd Massman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other family.


A Celebration of Life will take place in September in Blairsville, GA for the family and will be announced. Any memorials may be given to the West Palm Beach Fisher House where his daughter stayed while James was in Hospice. The family of James wishes to extend our sincere thanks to West Palm Beach VA, VA Hospice, and West Palm Beach Fisher House.
