I met Jody over 40 years ago when I started dating her daughter Amy in high school. At 15 years old I didn’t imagine that she would stay in my life for all these years, but I can honestly say I couldn’t have asked for a better Mother-in-Law than she was. I will always remember the countless meals she made us, the hundreds of times we enjoyed a laugh together, and of course all of the family get togethers that she hosted. I actually looked forward to spending time with my in-laws, because they were just like family to me, and Jody truly made me feel like I was just one of her sons. She will be sorely missed, but fondly remembered.

Mom, I am so fortunate to have been in your life and you in mine for 63 years. That's why there can be no words to express how much I will miss you. My heart aches to realize that I'll never see, hug, kiss or talk to you again. My mind is flooded day and night with memories of you from childhood: your beautiful bright red hair, your fast walking pace (we used to tease you about how those little legs could really move), your creativity (mod podge, macramé, bleach bottle piggy banks, sewing doll clothes for my Barbies and Velvet, living room tents), cooking/baking (my favorites were your fried chicken, pumpkin pie and peanut butter blossoms), seamstress skills (making school clothes, prom dress, wedding dress), taking us to the Venetian Pool, Pirates World, Disney World, WV family visits - being the mom who made the house a home where my friends wanted to visit. As an adult, we developed the relationship of friends and I could confide joys, hopes and fears to you with your loving responses and constructive guidance. It has been an honor to be your daughter! My life will forever have a missing piece without you. I love you eternally.

Thoughts and prayers to the Rhodes family. Mrs. Rhodes was a beautiful lady and had a way of cheering up anyone's day. I had the pleasure of stopping by the Rhodes residence twice a month as their Schwan's delivery man. She will be missed by many.

"How's my baby?"......without fail my mother always asked this of me when I called her. Although she's lived a long life it was still too soon to see her leave this world. Mom was a wonderful person who always helped others. always loved to cook and have family and friends around. Sunday Linner was a weekly event after church growing up and mom was always busy making a huge meal. This is just touching the surface of the type of woman she was and many of my fond memories of her will always be cherished and missed. I selfishly wish you were still here. I will miss talking to you, I will miss hugging you, reading over cook books together, watching old movies with tap dancing greats and your forever favorite Doris Day. You used to always talk about Meemaw and how you missed her even right before you died and now I hope you are by her side. My heart is crushed and I miss you so much.
