John "Jack" Fisher Obituary

Fisher, John "Jack" A., passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of the late Donna Mae Fisher; devoted father of Terri Lamkin, Scott (Michelle) Fisher, and Jennifer Fisher; cherished grandfather of Arin (Taylor) Fisher, Breanna  Fisher, Austin Lamkin, Alexandria Dilley, Emily Lamkin, and Logyn Dilley; loving great-grandfather of Amelia Lamkin, Eleanor Kohm, Wesley Fisher, and Saylor Fisher; dear brother of James Fisher, Patricia Migneco, and the late Doris Huitt; dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

During his high school years Jack loved to play baseball and was an exceptional catcher. So exceptional in fact, that he was being scouted by the Yankee's and the Pirates baseball team. But those dreams were sidelined by the call of duty when he was drafted into the U.S. Army instead. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged, and received a medal of good conduct. Shortly after he married the love of his life, Donna. They were married for 64 years. Jack was a coach for the Rolling Rams Basketball Team in the 60's. At age 69, Jack had a stroke, but he never lost that mischievous glint in his eye. Jack was full of life, "the life of the party". "Gabby Gerty" as he was known to be, never met a stranger and always had a joke or two lined up. Jack shared his love of the beach and Sanibel Island with his loving and devoted wife. He loved boating and fishing. He loved to travel in general. He never met a hotdog he didn't like, and he loved making his own beer. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His infectious spirit will be greatly missed.

Services: Celebration of Life to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, or 4 Paws 4 Rescue. Friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Absolutely wonderful man and father who touched so many lives! Bittersweet, but happy he is at peace and in heaven with the love of his life.
