Ronald Hunt Obituary

Ronald "Ronnie" Dean Hunt, age 76, of Hermitage, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, with his older brother, Gary, and Bonnie Hunt by his side. He was born Dec. 31, 1948, at Wendell, Idaho to Hobart Wendell Hunt and Lillian (Stephens) Hunt. Ronnie was a graduate of Wheatland High School of 1966.
At a young age, the boys lived with their grandparents, Rev. William and Mae Stephens to attend school while their parents worked in Kansas City. Ronnie accepted the Lord as his savior and became a member of the Wheatland Baptist Church.
In September 1966 Ronnie and Gary entered the U.S. Navy on the Buddy System. After completing boot camp he was assigned to the USS Constellation CAV-64. He made several combat missions to Vietnam.
Ronnie was employed by Husman Refrigeration Company, while there he surrendered into the ministry and attended Southwest Baptist University. He was also an auto mechanic at various places, finally becoming self-employed.
Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Bonnie Hunt of Hermitage; stepbrother, David, and Debi Fritz; niece, Rachel Hunt Jacobson and nephew, Jason Wendell Hunt; three great-nephews, Mitchell Jacobson, Zane Wendell Hunt, and Jared Jacobson; two great-nieces, Jaelynne Hunt and Julianna Hunt; and one great-great-niece, Alice Jacobson.
Funeral services were Sunday, July 13, at Hathaway-Peterman Chapel. Burial was in Dooly Bend Cemetery, Wheatland under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland.
