Leslie Roy Shivers, Jr. transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
Leslie R. Shivers Jr. was born April 3, 1948 to Leslie R. Shivers Sr. and Georgia “Moton” Shivers.
Leslie joined the Navy and after an honorable discharge he was employed at Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock Company.
Leslie married Betty Jean Delk in 1977. In 1979, he left the shipyard and went to work for Gwaltney Meat Packing Company of Smithfield. He retired from Gwaltney and went to work for Dominion Virginia Power at the Surry Nuclear Plant. To pursue his desire to serve Jehovah, Leslie retired from Dominion.
Leslie had been a faithful servant of Jehovah and he would always mention his hope for a future life in paradise as promised by Jehovah, free of pain and sickness.
He will surely be missed by all his family and friends.
A Celebration of life service will be held 2pm Friday, June 3, 2022 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 3-6pm also at the Chapel. Mr. Shivers is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Shivers-Moton Family in your thoughts and prayers.
