I just learned today of Lois' passing. For many years, she and I were in ORFS, Outdoor Recreation for Seniors, a New London based group, out of The Chapin Center, that met weekly to hike, kayak. She was particularly enthusiastic and frequently invited our group over for lunch after our workout.
We shared a love of nature, animals, rescue ones. She loved seeing wild creatures near her home and feeding them.
She had many dogs over the years, big ones cherished. More recently, she had cats as pets, which she was better able to handle, as walking became harder. When I visited her at Sunapee Cove, she had an affectionate cat that loved to rest in her lap.
I would go to see Lois at craft fairs where she sold beautiful wreaths, with beautiful color and design. I loved buying ones for my neighbor who decorates her house for every season, holiday.
She loved telling stories about her life, her most happy marriage to the man in California, who was initially her boss, and then her second husband.. They loved traveling the world.
I will miss her friendliness, kindness and generosity and our love of nature and pets.
RIP, my friend.
