Lois Adele Mohn Hardenburg, 94, of West Lafayette, IN, formerly of Wharton, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep, early morning on Wednesday-August 27, 2025, at Rosewalk Village of Lafayette, IN. Lois was born on August 24, 1931, at Presbyterian Hospital, Newark, NJ, to the late Peter William & Iva Mae Imlay Mohn. Lois received her nursing degree (RNBA) at East Orange General Hospital in 1955. She enjoyed working at various nursing homes during her career. She married Erwin L. Hardenburg on September 30, 1961, and they had 2 sons. In 2006, Lois left NJ to live with her son Alan and his family. She is survived by her sons Erwin L. Hardenburg, Jr. (wife Marjorie, daughters Nicole Elise & Lynette Marie) and Alan W. Hardenburg (wife Christine Ann, son Nathan Alexander), and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her siblings, Phyllis, Leo, June, and Alfred Davenport. Lois enjoyed spending time eating chocolate, playing games with her family, traveling, and most of all, cheering on her beloved New York Yankees. She shared many fond memories of going to Yankee Stadium with her parents and carried that tradition through generations to her grandson. Lois always believed that flowers should only be given when the recipient could see, smell and enjoy them, so in lieu of flowers, please send flowers to one of your loved ones or donate to a charity of your choice. The visitation and funeral service will be at Tuttle Funeral Home, in Randolph Township, NJ, on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ. A special thank you to the staff at Rosewalk Village who took great care of Lois for the past 7 years. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., of Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements.
