Margaret “Peggy” Moran-Vosburgh, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2022. Born on June 19, 1932, to the late Catherine (nee Reilly) and Frank Rogers in Bronx, New York. In 1952 Peggy married the late Daniel J. Moran, her Irishman from County Kerry, and moved to Rutherford in 1955 where they raised their seven healthy children: Mary Kate Neville (late James), the late Daniel M. Moran (Deborah), Frank Moran (Wesanne), the late Sean Moran, Kevin Moran, Matthew Moran, and Margaret Missy Scanlon (Glenn). Peggy is also predeceased by her husband the late Walter Vosburgh and siblings Frank, Ellen, Catherine O’Malley and Rosemary Bruton.
Most of all, Peggy cherished her time spent with her seven grandchildren, Daniel Moran (Meghan), Erin Marrone (Anthony), Meghan Moran, Caitlin Kalish (Ryan), Mikaela Scanlon, Regan Scanlon, Sean Moran, and her six beautiful great-grandchildren.
Peggy’s strong Catholic Faith was an important part of her daily ritual where she would spend hours praying for the living and for those that passed before her. A long time devoted Parishioner of the Church of St. Mary, Steward at St. John Vianney’s, and supporter of any Catholic organization that sent her an envelope.
Proud of her Irish heritage, she formed lifelong friendships as a founding member of the North Jersey Irish American Association, and as a Board member of the Jersey Hurling Club. Her love of all things Irish has spanned generations of her family, even most recently being an active member of the Rutherford Irish American Association. Peggy was well known for her delicious Irish Soda Bread, quick wit and infectious smile. To know Peg was to love her. She will be missed.
Friends will be received Friday, April 8,2022 from 4-8 p.m. at Macagna-Diffily-Onortao Funeral Home, 41 Ames Avenue, Rutherford, NJ; Saturday, April 9,2022 Funeral Mass at Church of St. Mary in Rutherford, NJ, at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

My heart is broken. Peggy (Mrs. Moran to me) was my second mom growing up in Rutherford. Our backyards shared the same fence with a huge maple tree next to it that we used to climb over instead of walking around the block. Her house was like my house — sleepovers, meals, bbqs, swimming pool, siblings, holidays, aunts and uncles, AND THE BEST IRISH SODA BREAD — we shared it all!
Mrs. Moran was the rock and the glue of the Moran family. I was hoping to visit with you when in town for our SMH 50th/51st reunion, but I’m crushed that will not happen.
So instead I ask that you continue to watch over me from above, as you did when I was one of the many kids running around in your home.
Until we meet again,
Your ‘other’ daughter

I am saddened to hear of Peggy's passing. I have always remembered her with fondness. She was a lovely, funny lady who was always kind to me. Although it has been many years since I've seen her, she is still in my prayers as all of you are. Godspeed, and I pray the reunion in heaven is as sweet as we believe it to be.
Sending each of you strength and prayers at this terribly difficult time.
Very sincerely,
Gari Richards -Semon.
